Sites for Pre-Service Teachers

Systematic Teacher Excellence Preparation is a National Science Foundation-funded project aimed at improving pre-service and in-service teachers in mathematics and science. The focus is on teachers in Montana, especially in Native American school programs.
Teacher Talk is an electronic publication for pre-service and practicing secondary education teachers from the Indiana University School of Education.
In Tales from the Electronic Frontier, 10 teachers share actual classroom experiences using the Internet in K-12 science and mathematics. Each story is followed by questions and issues, making this an ideal resource for pre-service or in-service instruction on classroom uses of technology.
LETSNet from Michigan State University is not specifically a pre-service project, but it does serve as an introduction to the use of the Internet in the classroom.
University of Illinois Teacher Resource Center for pre-service and practicing K-12 teachers
The ERIC Clearinghouse on Teaching and Teacher Education is part of the massive ERIC service at Syracuse. It’s a resource guide and database of lesson plans, case studies, web sites, etc.
Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education annual conference proceedings: 1995 and 1996—There’s lots of good information here, but the files for each topic are large and can take a few minutes to load.
MCREL Professional Development provides links to research results, proven practices, and organizations related to professional development and pre-service teacher education.
The Journal of Technology Education is a scholarly journal dedicated to technology education issues. Though not specifically pre-service, it still might be useful to pre-service teachers.
The Arizona Collaborative for Excellence in Preparation of Teachers (ACEPT) is another NSF-funded project dedicated to enhancing math and science teacher education.
The Brigham Young University School of Education offers some interesting resources, but most are focused to local pre-service students.
