KET has started a new service for Kentucky teachers.

In order to provide you with the best and most up-to-date curriculum materials possible, we have started Resources on Request.

KET wants to provide classroom teachers with resources that help enrich, supplement, and expand classroom lessons and professional development.

The resources may include:

  • Web sites
  • KET--produced programs
  • ITV (instructional television) series
  • KTLN sessions with other schools or university experts
  • video produced specifically in answer to a request
  • whatever else we can find to help.
During the 1998/99 school year, we pilot-tested a new approach to providing these resources. With Resources on Request, teachers will ask for specific help with a specific curriculum unit, and KET will either find or develop a resource to answer that need. You'll get the resource you need by mail, by satellite, via the Interne, or even in person, hand-carried by someone from our staff.

Initially, this service will be available free to any Kentucky public school teacher.

How do you make a request?

Just call KET or talk directly to your regional education consultant. We'll need to know things like grade level, the unit being taught, the specific needs, the technology available in the school, and how soon the resources we find or develop are needed.

What else do you need to know?

  • This is a pilot project--and an experiment. We want to find out teachers' needs and meet them. Although we may not be able to fill every request or find information as quickly as needed, we'll work with the media specialist and the classroom teacher to supply whatever resources we can find.

  • We hope to collect the requests and create a catalog of resources others have requested and explanations of how they were used.

Call us!

Let's work together (the school media specialist, the classroom teacher, and KET) and see what resources we can find for teachers.
