Achieving Effects with Set, Lights, and Sound
What color is anger? What color is passion? What color is fear?
Using a novel or short story you’ve read recently, think of an image or images that came to your mind as you read.
- Did you see the characters’ faces? Explain.
- Did you see where the story takes place? Explain.
- Did you hear sounds or music that supported the action or the mood of the story?
Can you think of a film or a live performance you’ve seen where you noticed the lighting, sets, and/or sound? Why did you notice them? How did these effects aid in setting the tone or mood of a scene?
