The Northern Kentucky Brotherhood and the Gospelway Bluegrass Singers, two groups with very different styles, perform a variety of gospel songs. The Northern Kentucky Brotherhood sings gospel a cappella, with an emphasis on improvisation. The Gospelway Bluegrass Singers perform in a bluegrass style. This excerpt is from Program 7 of the KET series World of Our Own: Kentucky Folkways, which focuses on old and new Kentucky traditions relating to work, play, everyday life, and customs. The series includes eight half-hour programs encompassing 35 segments on topics ranging from shoeing thoroughbreds to playing guitar.
