After the war, people still had strong feelings about what happened. Women in both the North and the South found ways to help veterans and their families. They also wanted to celebrate the heroes of the war. Women in the South formed the United Daughters of the Confederacy. This badge was made for a UDC group that planned a monument for Kentuckian John Hunt Morgan.
