Artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci is born. He is famous for his paintings The Last Supper and Mona Lisa; his drawing Vitruvian Man; and numerous conceptual inventions, such as the helicopter and the calculator.
1802:
William Wordsworth is inspired to write the poem “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” when he and his sister Dorothy see a “long belt” of daffodils.
