1910:

Nobel Prize-winning Norwegian author Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson dies. Known as one of “the great four” Norwegian authors, he also wrote the lyrics to the Norwegian national anthem.

1917:

Chinese-American architect I.M. Pei is born. He is renowned today as the “master of high modernist architecture.”
