English poet John Milton is born. He is often considered the greatest English poet after Shakespeare.

1967:

Violinist Joshua Bell is born in Bloomington, Indiana. In 1985, he will make his Carnegie Hall debut playing a 300-year-old Stradivarius called the Gibson ex Hubermann, made during Stradivarius’ “Golden Era.”
