Geri Grigsby

Not long after girls’ high school basketball was reinstated in Kentucky in 1975, Geri Grigsby helped bring statewide recognition to girls’ hoops. During her career at McDowell High School, Grigsby scored 4,385 career points—a record for both girls and boys—and was named Miss Basketball in 1977, a year in which she averaged an astonishing 49.8 points per game.
