Meet Ted McCoy, pictured at left, and hear the courageous story of his battle against colon cancer. Learn how, with proper prevention and screening, colon cancer can be one of the most preventable types of cancer. KET and the Colon Cancer Prevention Project (CCPP) present a panel of experts answering your questions about this deadly disease.
Host Renee Shaw welcomed McCoy, along with Dr. Whitney Jones, founder of the CCPP; Torrie Harris, DrPH, director of the Kentucky Office of Health Equity; and Dr. Jon Hourigan, a colon and rectal surgeon and professor at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, and discussed colon cancer in Kentucky and took questions from callers.
Catching a Killer: Preventing Colon Cancer in Kentucky was produced by KET in collaboration with the Colon Cancer Prevention Project. Laura Krueger was the producer. Archie Borders was the segment producer. This program was funded in part by the following greater Louisville area healthcare providers: Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare; Norton Healthcare; and Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness.
