Like [bookclub panelist] Jonathan Allison, I felt the immediate desire to have a diagram handy as I read Wendell Berry’s The Memory of Old Jack. So I made one. Here it is, incomplete and crude, just as I sketched it out for my own benefit (on subsequent readings). The dark line traces Old Jack’s relationship to Andy (aka Wendell). —TTucker
