Dr. Thomas Walker

(#716) from Kentucky Life Program 716 (2001)

Members of the Bell County Historical Society recall the remarkable life and accomplishments of Dr. Thomas Walker, the first known European to come into what is now Kentucky through the Cumberland Gap—which he named. Later explorers such as Daniel Boone relied on maps drawn by Walker. Segment narrated by series host Dave Shuffett.
