Sculptor Ed Hamilton, a Louisville native, talks about the memorial he created to honor African-American soldiers of the Civil War. The granite-paved plaza featuring a sculpture and a Wall of Honor is the only memorial by a black sculptor on federal land anywhere in the District of Columbia.
