Host Dave Shuffett visits the Georgetown-Scott County Museum to see an exhibit of coin silver: household objects made by silversmiths on the Kentucky frontier from melted-down coins. Guest curator Ron Vance and coin silver expert Jerome Redfearn explain that currency was rarely used on the frontier, so turning coins into items like chalices or ladles was a practical way to preserve the value of the metal.
