Manager Carey Ruff leads a tour of the Floracliff nature preserve in southern Fayette County, where the highlights include an abundance of wildflowers and one of the largest “petrified waterfall” formations in the eastern United States. The preserve, operated jointly by the state and a private board of trustees, is a living legacy of nationally known botanist Mary Wharton.
