Traces some Kentucky connections to the Tuskegee Airmen, the first squadron of African Americans to be trained as military fighter pilots and support crew, including the white officer in charge of their training, Lexington native Noel Parrish. The Airmen’s skill and courage during World War II helped speed the integration of the U.S. armed forces.
