Murphy’s Pond

Host Dave Shuffett goes canoeing on Murphy’s Pond, a nearly untouched 175-acre bald cypress swamp in Hickman County that’s a haven for wildlife. Marc Evans, senior biologist with the Kentucky State Nature Preserves Commission, and Murray State University professor Ed Zimmerer point out some of the residents—including one of the densest concentrations anywhere of poisonous cottonmouth snakes.
