(#1803) Woo Hoo Pedicab/The Purple Onion/The Chitlin' Circuit/Central Kentucky Community Theatre

The 3-wheeled bike taxis of Woo Hoo Pedicab offers a social and environmentally friendly means of transportation around the northern Kentucky city of Newport and across the river into Cincinnati; Dave pulls up a chair for Today's Special at The Purple Onion, a popular Central City restaurant; the city of Hopkinsville was a main stop along The Chitlin' Circuit, a national string of clubs where black recording artists could perform during the days of segregation; and in Washington County, the Springfield Opera House is the home of the Central Kentucky Community Theatre which offers a variety of musicals and plays. A 2012 KET production hosted by Dave Shuffett.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
    In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
    (The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
    If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
