(#1017) Bill Luster/Federal Grove/Laura Brewer

Photographer Bill Luster, who has worked for the Courier-Journal for 30 years, mounts an exhibit of his work in his hometown of Glasgow. In Auburn, Terry Blythe operates a bed-and-breakfast in an 1871 mansion. And Warren County upholsterer Laura Brewer recycles scraps into whimsical Christmas stockings. A 2004 KET production hosted by Dave Shuffett.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
