Courier-Journal photographer Pam Spaulding shares photos and stories from her book An American Family, Three Decades with the McGarveys; a behind-the-scenes look at incredible costumes of the Actors Theatre of Louisville; Wilson Wyatt, former Louisville mayor and Kentucky lieutenant governor who played major roles in national politics; the new voice of Churchill Downs, track announcer Mark Johnson; and U of L medical researcher Dr. Manuel Casanova thinks he has uncovered a common link between dyslexia, autism, and ADHD. Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
    In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
    (The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
    If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
