One to One with Bill Goodman

(#333) Bob Compton

Bill speaks with executive producer Bob Compton about Two Million Minutes, a film comparing how the three superpowers of the 21st century—China, India, and the United States—are preparing their students for the future. The film addresses what many are calling a crisis for U.S. schools regarding chronically low scores in math and science. A 2008 KET production.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
