The Dixie Highway
Host Dave Shuffett drives the eastern route of the old Dixie Highway—the "magic highway"—from the Roebling Bridge over the Ohio River at Covington to the Cumberland Gap at Middlesboro. While visiting some of the current roadside attractions, he also remembers those that flourished from the 1930s through the '50s but faded away with the coming of the interstate highways.
