Storm Recovery: Special Report

A discussion about the statewide damage from last week's severe weather, current aid and recovery efforts, and more. In Frankfort, Renee Shaw will talk with Governor Steve Beshear and legislators representing affected areas including State Rep. John Will Stacy, Kentucky Senate Majority Floor Leader Robert Stivers, State Sen. Tom Jensen, and State Rep. Adam Koenig. Bill Goodman will discuss events with studio guests: Brigadier General John Heltzel, director of Kentucky's Division of Emergency Management; Libby Turner, Region IV Federal Coordinating Officer for FEMA; Tony Edwards, warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Jackson; and Dan Florell, Ph.D., assistant professor in the School Psychology Program at Eastern Kentucky University. Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
    In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
    (The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
    If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
