Falls of the Ohio

(#314) from Kentucky Life Program 314 (1996)

Kids hunt for fossils at Falls of the Ohio State Park, on the Indiana shore of the Ohio River across from Louisville. Dams and canals that tamed the original “falls,” a series of rapids that impeded 18th-century travel on the river, also uncovered a rock layer that is one of the largest exposed Devonian-era fossil beds in the world.
