Host Dave Shuffett takes a hike in the Jefferson Memorial Forest, a 5,000-acre enclave of nearly pristine woodland in southwestern Jefferson County—within sight of downtown Louisville. Opened in 1948 and dedicated to America’s veterans, this urban oasis is the largest piece of land owned by any local government in America.
