Hickman

(#722) from Kentucky Life Program 722 (2001)

On a tour of Hickman, a picturesque Mississippi River town in Fulton County, host Dave Shuffett admires the unusual eight-day clock in the courthouse tower, visits the Warren Thomas Black History Museum in a church founded by former slaves, samples pecans at the Kentucky Nut Corporation, and sees how brooms are made at the Henson Broom Shop.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
