Wrather West Kentucky Museum

(#1006) from Kentucky Life Program 1006 (2004)

Host Dave Shuffett visits the Wrather West Kentucky Museum at his alma mater, Murray State University. Located in the oldest building on campus, the museum features exhibits on local history, including artifacts from the Civil War and World War II and a tribute to Murray’s Nathan Stubblefield, whom some credit as the true inventor of radio.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
