Volunteers from Between the Rivers Inc. work to restore an old church, clean up cemeteries, and preserve other reminders of the human history of the area now known as the Land Between the Lakes. Before the damming of the Tennessee and Cumberland rivers to form lakes Barkley and Kentucky and the nature preserve/recreation area between them, people had lived and worked in the area for centuries.
