The Frazier Museum

(#1118) from Kentucky Life Program 1118 (2005)

Curators describe some of the unique objects on view at the Frazier Historical Arms Museum (now the Frazier International History Museum) in Louisville, which opened in 2004. Based on the personal collection of local businessman Owsley Brown Frazier, the museum also houses objects from Britain’s Royal Armouries in its first international collaboration.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
