Danielle Waller of the Louisville Science Center talks about the exhibits there and the history of the center, from its beginnings in 1871 as a “cabinet of curiosities” to the modern, hands-on museum of today. She also discusses the museum’s role in educating teachers. Interview conducted by Candyce Clifft.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
    In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
    (The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
    If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
