Squallis Puppeteers

(#219) from Louisville Life Program 219 (2008)

A look behind the scenes at Squallis Puppeteers. Jess Meyers and Nora Christensen, co-executive directors of Squallis, show the different kinds of puppets they use and explain how they are made and how they are used in performances. They also talk about how schoolchildren react to puppets and about the rewards of their work.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
