Chief Robert C. White of the Louisville Metro Police Department talks about his background and his work as police chief. He remembers what inspired him to become a police officer and discusses his work in Virginia, Washington, DC, and North Carolina. He talks about the challenges of reducing crime, the perception of crime versus the reality, and the success of the 574-LMPD crime tip hotline. He also talks about his work as an adviser to the New Orleans police department after Hurricane Katrina. Interview conducted by Candyce Clifft.
