David Karem, executive director of the Waterfront Development Corp., talks about Louisville’s Waterfront Park on the Ohio River, scheduled for completion in 2011. He talks about the park’s economic impact on the city, its popularity as a gathering spot, and the surprising popularity of the children’s playground. He also talks about the future, including the installation of the Lincoln memorial sculpture and the remaking of the Big Four bridge into a pedestrian bridge. Interview conducted by Candyce Clifft.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
    In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
    (The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
    If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
