The CommonHealth of Kentucky

(#110) Disease Management

Spotlights projects to educate people about healthy lifestyles and encourage them to take responsibility for their own health. The Living Well Workshops: Chronic Disease Self-Management Program in Louisville is a six-week series of free workshops on how to deal with chronic conditions through diet, exercise, meditation, and other techniques. Staying Alive: How To Be an Effective Caregiver, also in Louisville, is designed to help reduce the mental and physical strain of caregiving and help the elderly safely remain in familiar living environments. And the Healthy Kids Centers provide students in four high-poverty Fayette County schools with free medical, mental health, preventive, and oral health services. Also, how knowing more about your genealogy can improve your family's health.
