Connections with Renee Shaw

(#313) Unnatural Causes: A Connections Special

In a local companion program to the PBS series Unnatural Causes: Is Inequality Making Us Sick?, panelists explore how health problems relate to social, economic, and racial status. Guests include Dr. Adewale Troutman, director of Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness and founder of the Center for Health Equity, and health care providers, advocates, and researchers from around the state. The discussion is interwoven with highlights from a town hall forum held in Louisville. A 2008 KET production.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
