A historical remembrance of the 19th-century feud between the Hatfield and McCoy families along the Kentucky-West Virginia border, which helped to entrench “hillbilly” stereotypes in the popular imagination, and a look at modern efforts to turn sites associated with the feud into tourist attractions.
