Kinniconick Creek

(#905) from Kentucky Life Program 905 (2003)

Host Dave Shuffett canoes parts of Kinniconick Creek, a stream purported to be 99 miles long contained entirely within Lewis County, and learns about history along “the Kinney” from lifelong resident Dr. Herbert Bertram. He also stops at a creekside hotel that was a popular 19th-century hunting and fishing resort to meet current owner Sam McEldowney.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
(The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
