National Underground Railroad Museum

(#1305) from Kentucky Life Program 1305 (2007)

Host Dave Shuffett visits the National Underground Railroad Museum in Maysville, talking with curator Nona Marshall and volunteer Alice Gallenstein about the “conductors” and safe-house owners who risked their own lives to help runaway slaves make their way toward freedom. The museum is located in the Bierbower House, which was itself an Underground Railroad safe house.
