The Brown and the Seelbach

(#310) Louisville’s Grand Dames

Neil Ward of the Brown Hotel and Larry Johnson of the Seelbach Hotel talk about the history of the two landmark hotels. The Seelbach opened in 1905 and has hosted nine U.S. presidents, as well as Al Capone. The Brown, which opened in 1923, is on the National Register of Historic Places and is the namesake of Louisville’s most famous dish, the Hot Brown. Narrated by Jayne McClew.
