(#313) Keeping History Alive

Joe Harris, executive director of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, headquartered in Louisville, gives a tour of the exhibits, which include a life-size replica of the Liberty Belle. Colleen Wilson, director of education for the Sons, explains how they teach schoolchildren about the American Revolution. Also discussed are the research library and community activities.

Trouble with video in Firefox:

This is a known issue with the Window Media Video format.

Windows Media plugin is no longer maintained in Firefox, causing it to stop working.

Solution: Change the Firefox configuration file.
  1. Open a new tab or window.
    In the "Location/URL" bar, type "about:config" and press Enter.
    (The about:config "This might void your warranty!" warning page will appear. Click I'll be careful, I promise!, to continue to the about:config page.)
  2. In the "about:config" page search bar, enter:
    "plugins.load_appdir_plugins"
  3. Double click the preference name to change the "value" to true.
  4. Close and restart Firefox. The video should now work once you reopen the page.
    If not, then the WMV plugin may not be installed.
