Patti Cooksey, the first female jockey to win a stakes race at Churchill Downs, talks about her early love for horses, how she got into racing, and the exhilaration of her 1984 Kentucky Derby ride. Now employed with the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission, she talks about her work and comments on proposed track safety rules.
