David Ross Stevens, Artist/Sculptor
![]() David Ross Stevens took up art rather late in life, having been an environmental writer for the Courier-Journal for ten years and a daily newspaper managing editor before that. He received most of his training through trial and error in his studio, and has gravitated to the sculpting of busts in high-fired clay, of which he has done more than sixty. Currently, he teaches an environmental course at Indiana University Southeast and finds that much of his sculpting leans toward environmental themes, whether they are in clay, cast resin, wood or bronze.
