Henderson resident Becky Collings begins this Christmas edition with a doll-making demonstration. Becky’s appreciation for art is often expressed in holiday-themed projects, beginning years ago with Santa figures made of foil and bread. Her creations now include angels and wizards made of polymer clay. Becky has taught seasonal classes at the John James Audubon Museum, and her lessons on making folk-art Santas are popular in the area.

Next, we look at holiday decorations made by several Louisville designers. These not-so-traditional ideas from Nanz & Crafts and Glassworks in Louisville include an upside-down Christmas tree and blown-glass ornaments.

Throughout the program, musical magic is supplied by Louisville’s Coterie, a 10-member vocal ensemble that began performing in 1989. The group’s name means “circle of friends,” which also describes its members. Coterie performs both sacred and secular music, with styles ranging from Renaissance to modern pop. Recently returned from a tour of England and Scotland, Coterie visits the Mixed Media set to perform songs from an album entitled A Holiday Collection.
