Daniel Spurlock, Louisville Chorus
A graduate of the Juilliard School of Music, where he earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees, Daniel studied conducting with Leon Barzin, John Nelson, and Eric Leinsdorf. He has served as assistant conductor of the National Orchestral Association in New York and of the Louisville Orchestra and conducted performances with such notable artists as Pinchas Zukerman, Yo-Yo Ma, Abbey Simon, Lee Luvisi, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, John Raitt, and Buddy Rich. Recently, in addition to appearing with Doc Severinsen in a Louisville Orchestra Super Pops Concert, he received high acclaim as chorus master for a performance of Mahler’s Symphony No. 8 with the Louisville Orchestra and a 300-voice chorus.
