Host Mel Fisher joined Mixed Media in December 2003.

A familiar voice on the Louisville airwaves, Mel is the midday announcer on WQMF-FM, the morning drive host for WJZL-FM/WJZO-FM, and co-host of the Saturday Morning Crew on WHAS. On television, she had previously been introduced to KET audiences as an on-air host during our annual fund drive.

Mel brings personal experience in the performing arts, as well as a broad interest in all the arts, to Mixed Media. She is a graduate of Louisville’s Spalding University, where she majored in communications and minored in theater.

And for those who’ve been watching for a while: Yes, Mel has changed names since she joined Mixed Media. It would seem that her WHAS gig also led to romance, because the former Mel Rexroat married her Saturday Morning Crew co-host, Ron Fisher, in 2004.
