Barbara Day, Nutritionist

Barbara Day, M.S., R.D., C.N., is an expert nutrionist and publisher and nutrition editor of Kentuckiana Healthy Woman magazine.

Barbara Day is a registered dietitian with more than 30 years of experience, having graduated from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Dietetics & Institution Administration. In addition to her M.S. degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of Maryland, Barbara has a diverse background as a research nutritionist at a Human Performance Lab where she worked with the Navy SEALs, a reviewer for the School Lunch Program where she worked with Indians and Eskimos in Alaska, and Chief Clinical Dietitian at Humana's Suburban Hospital.

Barbara is publisher of the bimonthly magazine on Women’s Health, Kentuckiana Healthy Woman magazine and past publisher of Kentuckiana HealthFitness magazine.

She has also written three books, "Fast Facts on Fast Food for Fast People," "High Energy Eating: A Workbook for Active People," and "High Performance Demands a High Performance Diet."

Barbara Day's private practice, DayByDay Nutrition, relaunched in early 2009. DayByDay Nutrition specializes in sports nutrition, cardiovascular nutrition as well as weight management.

Day is a member of PE4Life, Coalition for a Healthy and Active America, the American Dietetic Association, National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and Greater Louisville, Inc. In addition to many other professional and civic activities, Barbara has recently been a major part of the Mayor’s Healthy Hometown Advisory Board.

Barbara is married and has three grown sons and nine grandchildren. She is a runner, cyclist, hiker and a very active grandmother.
