Donna Barton Brothers, Former Jockey and NBC Reporter
Donna Barton Brothers is an NBC reporter and racing analyst. She is recognized by many as the reporter who conducts the on-track interview with the Kentucky Derby's winning jockey, while they're both on horseback.
As Donna Barton, she had more than 1,000 career wins and was the second-winningest female Thoroughbred jockey (in total earnings) of all time. Today, she is married to Frankie Brothers, a top horse trainer.
Donna Barton Brothers comes from a horseracing family. Donna's mother Patti Barton was a jockey, as were her brother and sister.
After nearly 12 years of racing, she retired in 1998.
In addition to covering the Triple Crown Races for NBC, Donna is the reporter for the Breeders' Cup and covers Professional Bull Riders events and the World Equestrian Games.
Donna is a former resident of Edgewood, Ky., and currently lives in Louisville.
