Lisa Sutton, House of Ruth
House of Ruth is is a nonprofit community-based organization caring for families and individuals with or affected by HIV/AIDS in Louisville, Kentucky. The organization was started in 1992.
Lisa Sutton joined House of Ruth as Executive Director in May 2011.
Prior to her post at House of Ruth, Sutton was the Assistant Executive Director at Neighborhood House, a community center in Louisville's Portland neighborhood. She has worked with several family- and child-focused Louisville nonprofit agencies for the past 15 years, including Legal Aid Society, St. Joseph Childrenís Home, and Maryhurst.
Sutton is an Indiana native, having graduated with a bachelorís degree from Butler University, Indianapolis, before receiving her Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University. She is licensed to practice law in both Indiana and Kentucky. After several years of law practice in Kentucky, primarily in family and childrenís issues, she earned a masterís degree in social work from the University of Louisvilleís Kent School and transitioned to nonprofit administration.
Lisa Sutton resides in the Crescent Hill neighborhood with her spouse, Richard Tewksbury, and young son.
