Henry Clay Building
Watch This Story (5:08)
There’s a great example of downtown revitalization at the corner of Third and Chestnut Streets.
The Henry Clay building was a stand-out when it was built more than a hundred years ago in the middle of the 4th Street business boom. The building started as an Elks Club, then a hotel and finally a YWCA; but years of neglect almost put this historic building in ruins.
Now, thanks to a multi-million dollar restoration, the Henry Clay is no longer an eye sore but a beautiful mixed-use center, and the new home of Louisville's Bunbury Theatre.
