It may be the "hottest" place in Louisville to take the family. Louisville Life gets an inside look at the glass and fire at Glassworks.
Opened in 1999, Glassworks was the brain child of glass artist, Kenneth vonRoenn (Architectural Glass Art, Inc.) and developer, Bill Weyland (City Properties Group). They sought to convert an old manufacturing building into a new multi-use facility that included a glass center, commercial real estate, and residential living. The glass center portion of Glassworks is now primarily owned and operated by vonRoenn's daughter, Page von Roenn who is the 5th generation of the Architectural Glass Art studio (formerly Louisville Art Glass).
At this one-of-a-kind facility, visitors can tour various studios, learn about glass working techniques, or take advantage of Glassworks' Walk-in-Workshops and classes to try their hand at creating a work of glass art.
